The Shimano SL-M310 Rapidfire 8-speed shifters control an Altus front and an Acera rear derailleur and the HG31 8spd Cassette (11-32t) combined with the SR Suntour XCC T202 crankset ( 24/34/42t) give you 24 mountain crushing gears to choose from. The Tektro Novela mechanical disc brakes with 6" rotors will provide all of the breaking power that you’ll need and the Weinmann SL-7 Doublewall wheelset will provide a tough and stable platform for your bike to roll on. | You get what you pay for! Well, I wanted a good entry level mountain bike with dual suspension without spending a ton of money. The bike arrived quickly and free of shipping charges with prime membership. The box was in pretty good shape when delivered by UPS. Once I opened there were a few scratches /small chips in the paint due to poor packaging/protection. I was somewhat disappointed that my new bike I just purchase was not in mint condition. I didn't complain or contact amazon but they can obviously do a better job packaging. I don't feel UPS caused the damage because the box looked good. Simply a lack of padding/protection between the parts in the box. I assembled the bike but realized I didn't have all the tools necessary to completely tune the bike. Therefore, I took the bike to a local shop for service. The rear rock shocks are awesome but the front fork shocks are not designed, nor are they adjustable enough for heavier riders.
